After more than four years as Centre Director at DTU Offshore – Danish Offshore Technology Centre, Morten W. Jeppesen has accepted a new job as Head of Department at DTU Wind. He will be replaced by Head of Administration Elena Pachkova who takes up the role as Acting Centre Director from 1 April.
Morten W. Jeppesen looks back at four busy years heading the centre:
“It has been a privilege to lead DTU Offshore on an exciting journey to become a key player in the energy transition. In collaboration with our academic partners and the offshore industry we have developed knowledge and technology solutions within a wide spectrum of application areas from production and cost reduction to environmental footprint and CO storage. Through our unique way of working together, DTU Offshore is generating significant value to society, including a large number of PhD graduates. From its current basis it is now for Elena and the management team to lead the centre for the next important activities,” Morten W. Jeppesen says.
A main objective for the new leadership is to build even closer relations to the industry and other cooperation partners, as Elena Pachkova explains:
“DTU Offshore must be the place where technological solutions for the energy transition are developed. We will build on our proven record of industry cooperation and use this for creating the R&D solutions that will position Denmark as one of the world’s leaders in the offshore energy transition. The centre is ready to ramp up to deliver the offshore R&D solutions that are needed by society and the industry,” she says.
